Fast-Growing Fort Lauderdale Bankruptcy law firm is hiring a Legal Assistant

We help individuals and business owners remove the financial monkey from their backs and open the door to a brighter future. Our law firm is growing rapidly, and we are looking to hire a Legal Assistant, with a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Bankruptcy Legal Assistant, on a project basis.

  • The Remote Legal Assistant position is project-based. The projects can either be performed remotely or in our Fort Lauderdale office.

  • Compensation: Project-based - Chapter 7 schedules ($200.00), Chapter 13 schedules without plan ($200.00), Chapter 13 schedules with plan ($275.00).
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with clients and building relationships with them by phone, e-mail, and Zoom
  • Communicating with clients to gather information needed to file for bankruptcy
  • Preparing bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related documents
  • Preparing Chapter 13 plans (original, amended, and modified plans)
  • Preparing motions to modify Chapter 13 plans
  • Preparing motions to value (mortgages and vehicles)
  • Preparing motions to avoid liens
  • Preparing objections to proofs of claim
  • Reviewing and responding to Chapter 13 objection sheets and notices of deficiency
  • Preparing requests to incur new debt in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy
  • Preparing reaffirmation agreements
  • Preparing suggestions of bankruptcy
  • Preparing Mortgage Modification Mediation motions and forms
  • Preparing Student Loan Program motions and forms
