GDIT has an opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia to join our team supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Public Health Surveillance, Data, and Technology (OPHDST). In this role you will be supporting Support OPHDST leaders and CIO Implementation Leads from across the Agency in their efforts to better capture, analyze and report Public Health data across Federal, State, Local and Tribal partners and stakeholders. Below are some of the key responsibilities that will be required in support of this effort.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Work within the GDIT Data Analytics team to assess available data sets against the CDC’s reporting needs, research available options, propose the technical solution and work with the team, SME’s, and CDC stakeholders to implement.
o Actively lead and/or participate in requirements gathering sessions.
o Serve as a functional representative in agile team meetings.
o Work directly with CDC Technical SME’s to assess current capabilities, tools and applications approved for use, and tailor them to project needs.
o Facilitate demos and training sessions as needed.
o Extract information from various sources and prepare reports for use in data analysis for division staff and management as it relates to data calls and information as required by CDC Director and senior staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills and Experience:
o Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years’ experience in a similar role
o Must have UI/UX experience with a focus on Design, understanding of HCD design
o Experience with web application, dashboard, and report development
o Strong understanding and demonstrated practical application of SQL and SQL Server Management Studio, SSMS
o Experience using Power BI (or other BI tools) as a reporting solution
o Applicable knowledge of data migration, warehousing, and ETL
o Basic Data Modeling and lifecycle management experience
o Experience with SQL
o Experience working within a large organization, directly with customers to gain an understanding of their business needs, technical requirements, and desired user experience. This position is expected to research and propose solutions.
o Microsoft Suite – expert level
o Must be within commuting distance to a CDC badging office. Atlanta GA, Hyattsville MD, New York, NY, Miami, FL, Spokane, WA
Desired Skills and Experience:
o Experience with minimum of one OOP (Python and/or JS)
o Experience with HTML/CSS
o Ability to conduct version control, debugging, utilize automation tools, and optimize code
o API access and management
o Agile methodology/Jira/Confluence
o Experience with CDC or Public Health data preferred.
o Master’s degree
o Familiarity with Power Apps and Azure Data Factory
o Familiarity with Python or R (will be querying API’s not performing statistical analysis)
o Socrate or a similar metadata storage system
o Experience analyzing and reporting large data sets
