Job Description

As MOBC grows into the newly-constructed building, there is increased capacity to offer in-kind donations to the community. The VISTA In-Kind Donation Process Specialist will be in charge of developing a system for organizing, tracking, and distributing all in-kind donations. They will also oversee community engagement, partnerships, and outreach as it relates to in-kind donations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a sustainable process for accepting, organizing, documenting, and distributing in-kind donations, from both agencies and individuals
  • Create an organized storage system for all in-kind donations
  • Work with MOBC Teams and clients in identifying program and individual needs and focus on in-kind opportunities to address priority needs
  • Manage the distribution of supplies and donations to community members and families enrolled in 2-Generation programming
  • Partner with Data & Analytics team to develop a data-tracking system, either using SalesForce database or Microsoft Suite, to keep up-to-date records on donation intakes and distribution
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with outside agencies that could increase inventory of materials or supplies
  • Solicitate in-kind donations for programs, operations, events and special projects as determined on an ongoing basis via phone, email, formal letters/request and in-person meetings with specific focus on budget-relieving outreach
  • Provide excellent customer service to families who are receiving supplies from the free store
  • Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops

Hours: 9 am – 5 pm

AmeriCorps members serve 1700 hours over the course of 11 months with Martha O'Bryan Center, gaining hands-on experience working with families, youth, and community members. The crucial components of the MOBC—AmeriCorps years of service program allow you to build your community and professional skills, thereby propelling you towards the next steps in your career and life.

Qualifications

Required

  • Over 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Legally eligible to work in U.S. (you can see the requirements here)
  • Pass a background check to work with vulnerable populations

Preferred:

  • Highly organized and great communication skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Canva, and other databases
  • Experience in non-profit organizations and working with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and doing community outreach

Physical Demands & Accessibility


  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to squat, bend, lift, climb a ladder and/or step-stool (regularly)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Driver’s License
