Connectivity Support and Maint Tech 2nd shift 11am -8pm
Connectivity Support and Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift 11am - 8pm (east coast time)
Covering the western USA.
Purpose:
This role will be responsible for assisting in the technical steps for Bayer product to "get connected" and then also have ownership for assisting in "keeping the connection". The successful candidate will have a proven track record in successfully monitoring system performance and driving results associated with system uptime as well as supporting key trouble shooting tasks to keep our customers devices online and
visible.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for assisting internal teams and/or customer with actions needed, including trouble shooting tasks, to get new devices connected as part of the final stages of the device install process;
- Manage new device connection completion status based on established "ready" date identified by the US Engagement Management team;
- Support other connectivity resources and any request to "reconnect" previous devices;
- Real time monitoring of device connections;
- Accountable for root cause identification for any device that falls off-line; identification is achieved through system review, customer communication, remote activities and in significantly complex situation, urgent Field dispatch for on-site evaluation;
- Responsible for resolving off-line events and moving device back to a connected status. If event is not able to be resolved remotely, this role is then responsible for routing to the proper team with the proper urgency for resolution;
- Responsible for tracking of "off-line" event reasons and providing monthly analysis and/or improvement action plans to direct manager and Director of Connectivity;
- Accountable for supporting day to day inbound customer communication for connectivity inquiries and technical support;
- Supports software and vulnerability patch remote deployment and Field Service dispatch activities as required;
- Resolves workflow errors that occur within internal systems that affect connectivity performance;
- Assist in development and/or updating of documentation of new procedures and processes;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, IT, Marketing, and Cyber Security to ensure successful support of the Connectivity strategy;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including HIPAA and GDPR
- Support other tasks as requested.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma/GED required with 5 years of applicable experience;
- Experience with networking, network administration, and monitoring IoT devices;
- Proven track record in managing system performance status through data strategies and implementing solid solutions to drive an enhanced customer experience;
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, work independently and apply critical thinking;
- Strong self-direction, detail orientation, organization skills and time management;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
- Deep understanding and/or the ability to understand regulatory landscape for medical device connectivity;
- Strong business acumen, with a proven track record of driving results and meeting established performance goals;
- Willingness to travel (25%);
- Ability to work staggered shifts to accommodate customer time zones to support schedule coverage needs (i.e., holidays, vacations, leaves of absence).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant discipline and 3 years' experience, or bachelor’s degree in Electronics, IT, Computer Science or relevant discipline, or related field with 2 years' experience;
- Experience with Windows and Linux OS;
- Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry, with a focus on connectivity, cybersecurity, or related fields.
- Preferred Candidates in the Pittsburgh, PA area to work a Hybrid 2 days in office 3 days at home model.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $74,300 to $111,500. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
