About the role:
An exciting opportunity for a technical sourcing manager with experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain management to join a world-leading technology business in the fight against cancer. You will be the subject matter expert and trusted partner in a global procurement organization responsible for leading and collaborating with engineering teams on NPI projects. The successful candidate will leverage technical and business acumen to manage the identification, evaluation, selection, and development of existing and new suppliers to meet and exceed project requirements, including technical, cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
What you will do:
  • Engage engineering stakeholders at project initiation stage to ensure early supplier involvement to meet technical and other requirements.
  • Work closely with category managers and commodity managers to influence and align on global sourcing strategies.
  • Execute sourcing strategy for NPI projects to meet cost reduction targets.
  • Ensure DfX is built into the supply chain to reduce cost and risk through the entire product life cycle.
  • Perform cost analysis, including total cost of ownership and make/buy analysis.
  • Develop and implement supplier risk mitigation plans.
  • Negotiate and establish contracts with suppliers as needed.
  • Meet project KPI’s before transitioning a new product from NPI to production.
  • Drive process improvements by developing and implementing best practices.
What you will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering degree preferred) with 8+ years of related experience, or master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience
  • Able to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Solid analytical, contract negotiation, cross-functional collaboration, and project management skills
  • Proven track record in partnering with engineering and suppliers to meet technical and business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement creative solutions to drive continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely to influence internal and external stakeholders from all levels of the organization.
