BACKGROUND & POSITION SUMMARY:

The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the leading national voice for dignity and fairness for domestic workers in the United States. Founded in 2007, NDWA works for the respect, recognition, and inclusion in labor protections of domestic and home care workers across the country. NDWA is winning improved working conditions while building a powerful movement rooted in the human rights, dignity and equality of domestic workers, home care workers, immigrant women and Black women.

NDWA was founded in 2007 by domestic workers and organizers from around the country. Our national alliance has grown from this founding group of 13 organizations to now more than 60 affiliate organizations, plus local chapters developed by NDWA in Atlanta, Durham, Washington DC and New York City, and individual members from states without affiliates or chapters to join. To date, the Alliance is comprised of more than 70,000 nannies, housekeepers, and home care workers in 44 cities and 20 states.

NDWA is seeking a creative, strategic, organized, and self-motivated person to join our Culture Change team as a Social Impact Campaigns Manager. You can easily connect the dots between gender equality, labor rights, racial and economic justice, immigration reform, and the growing needs for care. The Social Impact Campaigns Manager will be primarily focused on developing and executing social impact campaigns across platforms and mediums to elevate domestic workers and NDWA priority issues into cultural moments and conversations.

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Social Impact Campaigns (90% of FTE)

Identify, develop, and execute social impact campaigns around cultural moments, including film & TV, music, books, fashion, and other pop culture products. Set objectives and performance indicators and define distribution strategy.

Campaign Ideation

? Creative design of campaigns, including pitching ideas, brainstorming, strategy development, and campaign plan.

? Identify opportunities for social impact tactics across NDWA projects and campaigns.

Project Management

? Project manage multiple campaigns at a time, including establishing overall strategy and project plan, delegating tasks to appropriate team members, monitoring overall progress, troubleshooting, and post-campaign debriefs.

? Collaborate across NDWA teams (i.e. Civic Engagement, Celebrity/Influencer Engagement, etc) to provide digital strategies that utilize pop culture to complement campaign goals and desired cultural shifts.

? Manage consultants as needed, including artists, designers, web developers, writers, and event production vendors.

Digital Content

? Support NDWA’s entertainment portfolio by conceptualizing digital experiences to connect viewers of films/TV shows with education and pathways to action. ? Develop accompanying digital content for social impact campaigns (i.e. discussion guides, short videos, etc), with support from NDWA’s Design team.

Event Planning

? Provide support in planning and executing cultural events (film screenings, panel discussions, cultural activations, etc) both in person and virtual, including program development and logistics.

Impact Tracking and Measurement

? Conduct audience mapping to better understand and engage with online habits of target audiences.

? Develop and maintain impact measurement and processes, both qualitative and quantitative.

? Regularly conduct landscape analyses and project tracking for opportunities in pop culture.

II. NDWA Responsibilities (10% of FTE) ? Participate in staff meetings, staff study and retreats.

? Complete work plans and reports in a timely manner.

? Develop and satisfy a Professional Development Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? 3-5 years work experience working in relevant field (nonprofit, social impact entertainment, communications, digital, culture change)

? Alignment with NDWA’s vision and values, including a commitment to economic, race and gender justice.

? Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, meet multiple deadlines with a keen attention to detail.

? Ability to work and collaborate with diverse staff in person and remotely and as part of a high-performing team, in a fast-paced, experimental organization.

? Strong project management skills, with a preference for experience leading projects from beginning to end that involve collaboratively creating dynamic content and producing events

? Passionate about social justice, gender equality, labor rights, racial and economic justice, immigration reform, and the growing needs for care.

? Plus if you are familiar with the domestic worker sector and/or issues facing domestic workers and other low-wage workers.

? Strong time and people management skills, including demonstrated ability to think independently. Comfortable working with some ambiguity.

? Excellent writing skills, including experience drafting compelling copy and engaging content for social media.

? Excellent verbal communication skills, and experience developing and maintaining partnerships and relationships across sectors.

? Ability and interest in collaborating with artists and creative change makers; experience interacting with high profile public figures/ influencers preferred. ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites.

? Experience communicating with a team across multiple channels (Slack, Zoom, etc) in a remote environment.

? Experience in the arts/creative/entertainment sector and/or as an artist/storyteller is a plus
