QinetiQ Inc. is looking to hire an experienced Test Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of aerial target payload systems at our Huntsville, AL customer site. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

Your Contribution To The Mission:
Develop, design, test, and integrate payloads, augmentation, or enhancements on existing as well as new aerial targets.

Software engineering development, documentation, software testing to include regression testing, management, quality control, configuration management and deployment of software to support development, integration, test and evaluation of aerial target systems, subsystems, and related equipment

Research, design, and develop hardware, software for other Government agencies related to aerial target operation, training, modification, and certification. In accomplishing these requirements, the Contractor shall coordinate and interface with the supported activities

Research, design, and develop hardware and software to improve the capabilities of aerial targets, aerial target systems/subsystems, their components, enhancements, augmentations, and payloads.

Technical Flight support includes flight services, ground services and technical support for aerial target operational efforts to TSMO, TSMO’s Contractors, and other Government agencies and contractors in the areas of peculiar installation requirements, aerial target operations, reprogramming, setup and assembly of aerial targets and aerial target subassemblies, operational mission support, setup of TSMO special projects, configuration of non-standard aerial targets, diagnostic troubleshooting of aerial target and test equipment malfunctions, repair/refurbishment of aerial targets and related equipment, and other aerial target systems related problems that require immediate resolution.

Engineering Services support to modify target systems, subsystems, and related equipment hardware and software.

Provide onsite technical support personnel to support the aerial target operations, training operations, and weapon system certifications for aerial target systems managed by the TSMO.

Technical field support for launch, test and training site preparation and setup.

Provide towed target support to various DoD weapon systems developers and testers to include target hardware, manned aircraft support, GPS data logging.

Acquire Aerial Target systems and services to meet current and future customer requirements

Provide research, design, architecture, acquisition, integration, installation, and support for advanced threat communication technologies, including Cellular 4G/5G, WiFi, point to point, and other emerging threat communication systems

Developing and/or integrating various flight software including behaviors or threat effects

To Land This Job, You Need:
BS degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or other related Engineering discipline

Minimum of 7 years' experience in software engineering development, documentation, software testing with specific knowledge and experience working on the development of aerial targets and aerial target systems and subsystems.

Experience designing, upgrading, modifying, and integrating aerial targets.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing experience, the ability to convey technical designs, ideas and results to non-technical audiences and to provide briefings to high-level government personnel.

Experience supporting Technical Flight Field Testing.

Strong knowledge of, and experience developing and testing advanced threat communication technologies.

Experience developing and/or integrating various flight software including behaviors or threat effects.

MS degree preferred.
