Job Description

The Senior Computer Programmer provides technical guidance and skills in support of information systems development and integration efforts. Performance will be in a variety of technical areas including systems requirements analysis, data analysis and engineering, systems design, systems development, computer programming, systems testing and deployment, quality assurance (QA), configuration management, and systems documentation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide support for systems application testing, application QA, technical manual and user’s guide development, and desktop assistance
  • Provide support to Government personnel for software registration, maintenance, and Chief Information Officer approval processing for Information Technology (IT) Purchase Requests (PRs).
  • Provide programming support for Oracle database(s), web based, server based, and workstation based applications
  • Provide programing support for computer systems including Visual Studio, Python, and JIRA
  • Provide software design, development, and analysis application programming and web design support for rapidly reconfigurable systems.
  • Design and maintain web based applications with database/data repository interfaces using SSL and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) enabled authentication in accordance with DoD/ Department of Navy (DoN) IA policy and standards
  • Provide analysis and QA for overall software delivery and life cycle management

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering, Math, or Computer Science field
  • Approximately 10 years of experience working with the US Government providing technical guidance and skills in support of information systems development and integration efforts
  • Functional expertise in the current versions of the following: MS Windows 10 and maintaining competency as new editions are released, MS Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and maintaining competency as new editions are released; and Red Hat Linux/Ubuntu/CentOS
  • Desired: Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in an Engineering, Math, or Computer Science field; or Approximately 5 years of experience in a leadership role supporting Navy program offices, either internal or external to the program office

Security Clearance

  • Must have an active Secret clearance
