Research Assistant/Associate, Analytical

Our client in the Durham/RTP area uses the power of biotechnology to replace petrochemicals in everyday products, with more sustainable, engineered enzymes. We are looking for someone passionate about achieving this mission and contributing to the biomanufacturing revolution. If you have prior research experience and have conducted enzyme and microbiology assays, then this might be just what you are looking for.

Responsibilities:

• Execute on microbiology assays including growth Kinetics, preparation of cell solutions, and cell plating
• Prepare buffers and growth media
• Efficiently document and present results
• Identify and communicate procedural deviations quickly and effectively
• Support RD team as new milestones arise

Qualifications:

• Position and level is based on experience. BS or MS in Biology, Chemistry, or related field with 0-3 years of laboratory experience
• Must have previous experience working with aseptic technique
• Candidate must possess a high level of technical aptitude, excellent communication, organization, and collaborative skills, and demonstrated ability to innovate, troubleshoot, and thrive in a dynamic cross-functional team environment
• Ability to think and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with high throughput screening techniques
• Familiarity with enzyme assays
• Experience working with BSL1 organisms
• Experience in Quality Control is a plus
