Psychiatric Medical Practitioners, Inc (PMPI) is a professional group, serving California residents for 2 decades. In addition to covering In-patient Acute PHF Unit, MHRC, a long-term care facility, PMPI also imparts telepsychiatry services to established outpatient clinics in California. Most of our providers are Board Certified. We are not a locum or staffing agency and prefer career Psychiatrists.
PMPI has a Full-time In-patient position available for a BE/BC Adult Psychiatrist.
This opening is for in-person work based in Bakersfield, CA in a 16 bed In-patient PHF unit, 55 bed long term care unit, and 2 local clinics, with additional option for outpatient work via tele-psychiatry. In-patient work involves being on-call and weekend coverage. You must be computer savvy, as all records, prescribing, and work is electronic.
Requirements:
Must be a CA Licensed MD or DO
Board Eligible/Certified in Psychiatry
Have an active DEA certificate
Good standing status with the State of California, other States, and in Past Practices
Ability to interact compassionately with a diverse population
Responsibilities:
You will be providing care to Adult In-patients. You will treat routinly admitted Involuntary and Voluntary Psychiatric patients. These patients are from the Department of Mental Health - County. You must provide psychiatric medical services including psychiatric evaluations and patient follow-ups, write e-prescriptions, respond to messages, sign verbal orders and discharge summaries in a timely manner via EMR/EHR, and be flexible for cross coverage during other providers' time off.
Inpatient work involves in-person half a day rounds, documenting in EMR, 5250 processing, consents, rare remote appearance for court Habeus Corpus cases, and once a week IDT meeting. Additionally do monthly rounds in the 55 bed MHRC locked unit.
Outpatient work requires weekly 3-4 half days of outpatient clinic work for high acuity SMI patients. You can make an additional income if covering weekend calls, and tele-psychiatry work in CHC patients.
Salary
Most of our current Psychiatrists are doing per-diem work with us (1099). Income range is dependent on education, experience, board certifications, and efficiency of work.
We cover your malpractice insurance, DEA, and CA license expenses. Income ranges from $360,000 to $440,000/year based on 40 hours a week and 50 weeks of work a year. Your in-patient work pays flat rate for round day coverage including on-call and monthly stipends for long term care, and ACTion clinic.
Relocation expenses paid. The job is State sponsored Student Loan Program Eligible.
