About the Role:
Din Tai Fung is looking for a Senior Procurement Manager who will pair strong organizational skills with a true appetite to source and execute strategic partnerships with raw material sources and manufacturers to foster long-term relationships to support a dramatically growing business. A successful Sr. Procurement Manager will demonstrate attention to detail, a dynamic personality, urgency, adaptability, critical thinking, and strong negotiating skills to drive long-term value propositions.
Job Responsibilities:
Procurement
Manage the delivery of a major part of the organization's procurement strategy. Take personal responsibility for a limited number of mission-critical procurement programs.
Contract Requirements Identify contract requirements and write specifications for a large portfolio or area of the business for existing contracts and/or new contracts.
Contract Management Manage a portfolio of contracts and negotiate service level agreements. Will also plan, coordinate and supervise activities relating to major contracts.
Category ManagementManage a major category plan/program in line with the organizations’ purchasing/procurement and/or sales strategy ensuring realization of synergies, like cost savings and risk-reduction, and/or optimization of the category profit.
Budgeting Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.
Leadership and Direction Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
Sourcing Collect and analyze the key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative suppliers for high-risk area(s) with few alternatives/ high costs of changing, in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making.
Job Tasks:
- Oversee purchasing program for all categories including food, paper/ disposables, chemicals, beverages, small wares, and equipment
- Negotiate, benchmark, and conduct RFPs to secure competitive pricing
- Discover and on-board profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
- Partner closely with internal manufacturing facilities to identify synergies and sourcing efficiencies
- Oversee the details for product, supplier, and menu changes
- Establish buying and inventory management processes with Suppliers and Distributors
- Communicate, track and summarize product recalls/withdrawals
- Liaison between operations and Suppliers around quality and service issues
- Maintain proactive cross-functional communication to support operations teams
- Manage price changes and conduct price verification with external partners
- Collaborate with the VP of Supply Chain on driving strategic planning initiatives to support future growth
- Identify trends and forecasts to support volumes swings due to new items or seasonality
- Create quality controls to ensure manufacturers adhere to the company’s product specifications
- Create contingency plans to avoid supply interruption across the system
- Remain updated with industry trends, commodity changes, and sourcing best practices

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of Food Service experience in Purchasing, Distribution, or Supply Chain Management within the food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry
- Computer knowledge required (Microsoft Office)
- Talent in negotiations and networking
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
- Ability to prioritize and plan effectively
- Alert to the needs of the organization, team members, and guests
- Must be able to work independently and/or as part of a team
- High energy with a positive, servant leadership attitude

- Project management experience, preferred

Salary for the Senior Procurement Manager:
$140,000-$152,000 - Depending on Experience
Location for the Senior Procurement Manager: Hybrid. The Din Tai Fung USA Corporate Office is located in Arcadia, CA.
