 Company OverviewAmerican Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S. providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability.AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position works directly with a franchised business location. Job SummaryProvides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. 
 
Responsibilities
  
  - Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
  
  - Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  
  - Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  
  - Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
  
  - Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  
  - Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  
  - Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  
  - Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  
  - Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
  
  - Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
  
  - Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  
  - Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  
  - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  
 
 
 QualificationsAssociates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
