Job Scope:

Automotive Mechanic provides a high skill level of vehicle maintenance and repairs for a high volume of vehicles with a focus on exceptional quality control in a cost-effective manner. This position takes place in a high volume auto auction environment and not a retail environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies. Perform light repairs under supervision of a Technician II, Technician III, or Lead Technician.
• Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance which may include: brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, etc.
• Keep shop area clean and tidy. Perform work in accordance to safety standards.
• Meet daily production and quality goals.
• Move or park vehicles to support production flow as necessary.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized shop and work area
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in detail shop, car wash, car rental or buffing experience helpful but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Must currently possess or be able to attain an A.S.E. G1 Certification within 3 months of employment.
• Must continue training to maintain current A.S.E. status and to meet with technology and inventory changes as they occur.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of background check and drug test
• Ability to work on a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, push, pull, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 lbs.
