The Retail Janitor ensures the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the retail store property.

• Sweep and vacuum floors.
• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Stock paper product and soap in restrooms.
• Clean restroom fixtures, sinks, faucets, stools, windows, window sills, mirrors and floors.
• Mop floors and hallways.
• Clean baseboards, windows and doors.
• Dust and clean furniture.
• Maintain and store equipment properly.
• Use and store cleaning chemicals according to safety standards; maintain all data sheets on chemicals used
• Notify supervisor of equipment repairs and supplies needed.
• Perform seasonal duties such as salting, pulling weeds or picking up limbs.
• Ensure the parking lot is free of debris.

• 
  Basic reading and writing skills.
• The ability to be consistently at work and on time on scheduled work days.
• Subject to exposure to allergens including dirt, dust, mold, metals, rubber, plastics, latex, and pet hair.
• Continuous full use of body and ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds safely.
• Push and pull wheeled trash carts through buildings, parking lots, and roadways.
• Stand for long periods throughout each workday.
• Perform a combination of tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing or pulling objects.
• Visual acuity to work in an environment with changing and/or low light levels.
• Identify smells to evaluate equipment operation such as burning electronics, melting plastic, as well as job related smells such as urine.
• Auditory ability to distinguish various tonal qualities while using vacuums.
• Perform physical tasks associated with a variety of cleaning and custodial duties such as emptying trash containers, sweeping and mopping.
• Subject to exposure to cleaning solvents.
