Job Description

We are looking for a motivated front desk medical receptionist interested in joining a new cardiology group in Rockville, Maryland. The successful applicant will be punctual, detail oriented, and responsible with at least 1-2 years of experience in a medical practice and be able to function in a fast paced, growing environment.

The front desk receptionist will be responsible for fielding phone calls, checking in and checking out patients as well as scheduling patients for appointments, testing, and procedures. Additional responsibilities include recording insurance information, faxing reports, obtaining medical records and laboratory results as well as chart preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Checking in and checking out patients
  • Recording and uploading insurance information
  • Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/medical assistant.
  • Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented as well as ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
