This is a 3rd shift position 11:30pm- 8 am EST

Job Summary:

The individual will be responsible for providing support and/or oversight in the manufacturing areas as related to capital projects, process improvement, new product introduction, MUV, MITS, system controls, technical troubleshooting, data collection and root cause/corrective action investigations.

Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives:

In this role, the individual will:

  • Be required to interact and communicate extensively with both division and plant support personnel (Engineering, PR&D, R&D, Packaging Development, Maintenance, Safety, QA and Training) to assure that projects and/or issues are addressed with little-to-no impact to manufacturing productivity
  • Key primary resource and point of contact during regulatory audits from FDA, OSHA, AQR and MDA
  • Coordinate activities associated with conducting engineering studies pertaining to equipment, ingredients, processing and procedural changes within the respective department
  • Maintain a current passport
  • Based on SME status, will be called upon to provide expertise and assistance to other manufacturing facilities with like technologies around the global AN network
  • Conduct area audits to ensure the facility, equipment and processes for their department meets the needs of the business
  • Submit, track and monitor execution of work orders, PM’s and repairs
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Micro Team, Sanitation Supervisor, Department FLL’s and QA to maintain a micro free environment
  • Specific duties as detailed by the Operations Manager in regards to on the job training and project coordination
  • Interface and coordinate plans between operations (Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering) and specific support groups required for introduction of equipment, material or product changes
  • Coordinate activities with the Sanitation Manager and 3rd party cleaning team to maintain area sanitation, production and tour readiness
  • Work closely with 3rd party vendors, suppliers and resources to ensure that the department has the necessary equipment and tools to be successful
  • Implement changes to policies and procedures that impact their area of influence
  • Audit work orders and work with Quality Systems to coordinate necessary edits to reduce opportunity for human error when applicable

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system
  • Manufacturing support of all manufacturing capital scope projects and coordination of any associated technical training of all affected crew members
  • Support and lead process improvement (OpEx) and technical troubleshooting/ corrective action initiatives
  • Participate in OpEx idea generation and implementation for the manufacturing areas
  • Perform administrative duties as required (e.g. meetings, data collection & analysis, investigation on MUV/MITS, trend reports, PM program management/closeout, budgets, orders supplies, travel, batch records review, etc.)
  • All other project work assigned (schedule maintenance and engineering work as needed, support engineering studies, deviation for plant/division, flexible work schedule, support new product start-up and/or task force participation)
  • Create, revise and implement any job aid associated with current operational responsibilities changing due to changes in the equipment, materials and/or the process
  • Job aids for new equipment introductions will be created and implemented by the Technical Training Specialist with support from the Manufacturing Project Coordinator as needed
  • Coordinate the use of Job Trainers to facilitate on the job training to impacted employees
  • Work with the Training organization to identify new job trainers as needed and ensure their certification in order to deliver required training
  • Work with the Training and Development organization to develop a utilization plan for all job trainers to assure they keep skills current
  • Support the Front Line Leaders in their absence
  • Responsible for coordination with the Plant Sanitarian for impacting EMP results for their respective area, to include but not limited to: review and analysis of EMP data, detailed deep clean activity on any given shift, improvements to sanitation techniques, procedures, methods, tools, research and implementation to favorably impact results

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required with relevant technical expertise

  • The successful candidate for this role should have operational experience and expertise in the appropriate manufacturing area, which is seeking to backfill the role

  • They will coach peers in their function as job trainers and interface with support department in getting project completed on a needed basis
  • The position requires the individual to have computer skills necessary to perform the tasks associated with the job responsibilities, including the development of necessary training and job aids as needed
  • The individual must be highly motivated and self-driven to effectively manage multi-tasks in a dynamic, team-oriented environment while utilizing good judgment, effective communication and strong problem solving skills
  • The position will receive direction generally from the department manager as well as the staff manager for the department as appropriate. In addition, this position will be required to partner with the Training & Development department as needed
