Acara Solutions is hiring a Subcontract Manager for our client located in Farmingdale, NY. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Summary:
Responsible for the supervision of staff and management of the functions of the subcontract department, knowledge of proposal evaluation, cost/price breakdown, contract types, cost price analysis, and the implementation of training requirements for personnel in these related areas. Travel as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervises the award of subcontracts in accordance with program budgets and quality, quantity and delivery requirements.
- Reviews and approves all subcontract purchase orders within signing authority and ensures adherence to company and government procedures and regulations.
- Ensures the performance of audits at subcontractors as required adhering to government regulations.
- Assists and/or participates in the negotiations for subcontract definition.
- Performs special assignments at the direction of the Director of Subcontracts/Vice President of Subcontracts.
- Investigates and evaluates potential new sources.
- Reviews and submits to appropriate interdepartmental personnel, reports concerning proposal pricing information, material lead times, shortages, conferring with Program and Manufacturing Management regarding subcontract issues.
- Reviews and submits subcontract status reports to the Director of Subcontracts on a bi-weekly basis.
- Provides input to the preparation of an operating budget annually.
- Manage subcontracts to ensure strategic plan and budgetary objectives are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Evaluates, plans and manages the workload of a division of the Subcontracts Department, and assesses it on a monthly basis.
- Develops or implements improvements to operating policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all staff members are properly trained to handle work assignments.
- Trains subcontract personnel in the proper techniques of proposal evaluation, fact-finding, cost and price analysis and audit procedures.
- Plans staff training and development activities.
- Evaluates the performance of staff members in formal review. Manages performance disciplinary problems that may arise.
- Hires new staff members to fill open positions.
- Conducts weekly department meetings to assess progress, address critical issues, rationale and recommendations for resolution.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
