Engineering & Maintenance Department

The Building Engineer is responsible for the oversight of all day to day maintenance and operations at multiple locations in the Landover area. This position involves coordination with the Chief Engineer and Lead Engineer as well as Property Management to ensure that all maintenance resources, including funds, materials, and equipment are being used in the most efficient manner possible in order to meet departmental objectives. The Building Engineer is to serve as the primary engineer for the properties ensuring that all tenant requests are completed in a timely fashion. Additionally, the Building Engineer will ensure that outside vendors and other maintenance personnel complete scheduled work in a timely fashion while following all policies, procedures, protocols and controls.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all base building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and security/life safety systems in accordance with standard industry procedure and jurisdictional codes.
• Schedule required State inspections on elevators, fire & sprinkler systems, backflow devices, electrical systems should be closely monitored and tracked to ensure compliance.
• Systematically perform and document preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
• Coordination and oversight of 3rd party vendors and service contractors ensuring strict adherence to the scope of work and building rules/regulations.
• Responding to tenant service requests
• Maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools for assigned property.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with other Engineers.
• Provide technical assistance on all critical building functions including a full range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and related software systems and components.
• Submittal of a Daily Report detailing the hours worked at each property along with a brief description of the work completed.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
