Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller is a key member of the Finance Operations team and is the owner of continuous plant financial analysis using facts, data and financial analysis tools to ensure plant profitability is constantly being maximized. This includes reducing manufacturing costs and maximizing product financial returns. This position is the "financial eyes and ears" of the factory working closely with the Operations Management team to understand, analyze and challenge the operations from a financial perspective.
Job Responsibilities:
- The Assistant Controller is a key member of the Finance Operations team and is the owner of continuous plant financial analysis using facts, data, and financial analysis tools to ensure plant profitability is constantly being maximized. This includes reducing manufacturing costs and maximizing product financial returns. This position is the "financial eyes and ears" of the factory working closely with the Operations Management team to understand, analyze and challenge the operations from a financial perspective.
- Assistance with the preparation of plant financial statements, variance accurately reported and understood on a weekly/monthly basis. Complete financial analysis using plant data and have strong understanding how data translates to overall plant performance.
- Monitor the capital planning process, assisting with business case justifications and cash flow reporting and forecasting.
- Fixed Asset accounting and maintenance of the Fixed Asset subledger.
- Monitoring of cycle count activities to ensure compliance with Corporate Inventory policies and procedures.
- Reporting of capital spending/capital project reporting.
- Assistance in the annual budget process and year end audit, as required.
- Prepare ad hoc cost analysis and waste reports, as required.
- Reviewing and maintaining internal controls and related documents.
- Reviewing financial reports and supporting as necessary.
- Assumes additional related responsibilities, as required.
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting or Finance
- CMA preferred, or desire to obtain certification.
- Experience in Cost Analysis and Inventory financial controls.
Technical Competencies
- Experience in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
- Experience in Shop Floor and Management Execution Systems (MES)
