Job Description
Alphanumeric is hiring a Projection Actuary to work out of the Richmond, VA area for an organization with an established stronghold in the financial and insurance industries. This is a contract/contract hire role working remotely but you must be East Coast based.
This role supports the Long Term Care (LTC) Projections area with the responsibility of maintaining and enhancing the AXIS projection models for the LTC business and related projection processes. In addition, this role will support STAT projections, asset adequacy analysis, and the actuarial model governance processes.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical leadership in development of LTC projection models on the AXIS platform.
- Maintain projection production models and recommend and support modeling improvements.
- Ensure controlled and well-documented projection models/processes for each production cycle.
- Review and analyze projection outputs with assumptions and data source inputs and compare to actual financial results, help explain variances, and improve accuracy of projections.
- Support the Integration of the liability projection models with existing asset and reinvestment models for improved asset-liability management.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics and/or related major
- 5+ years of experience in the actuarial field
- Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation or Associate (ASA) with commensurate experience
- Experience with actuarial projection systems, proven modeling and analytical skills
- Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong LTC actuarial work experience and understanding of LTC product
- Specific knowledge of AXIS/PolySystems/SAS
- Knowledge of Valuation, Modeling, Projections, Experience, and Pricing actuarial processes
- Knowledge of GAAP, STAT and Tax reporting concepts
