Job Description

Emeritus is hiring an Account Executive, US & Canada SMB Enterprise Sales. As Account Executive, US & Canada SMB Enterprise Sales, you will be responsible for building and expanding Emeritus’ relationships with business leaders at small and medium sized businesses around the world. As an early member of this rapidly growing organization, you have the opportunity to play a key role in helping test, measure and refine many elements of the go-to-market strategy in service of delivering value to the customer.

We are looking for highly motivated account executives who can credibly speak as a representative of reputable universities to help prospective small and medium size company leaders take the next step in their team’s education journey. This role is a constant balance of quality and quantity and we’re looking for someone with the hunger, talent, and passion to join us.

The Account Executive, US & Canada SMB Enterprise Sales will report to the Team Lead, SMB Sales or Director of SMB Sales


Key Responsibilities

As Account Executive, US & Canada SMB Enterprise Sales, you will:

  • Be responsible for building and growing Emeritus SMB’s client portfolio by developing relationships with leadership teams across SMB across the US and Canada.
  • Consult and Advise: You’ll use your deep understanding of our product offerings to counsel SMB leaders to identify the right program which meets the needs of their team based on their qualifications, interest, and needs.
  • Engage and Follow up: Days will be split between servicing and pitching clients and building portfolio, using internal and external sources. Days will fluctuate between demand generation activities and time invested in following up with small and medium size businesses.
  • Interview and Inspire: You’ll talk with SMB business stakeholders to understand their user needs, articulate our value prop and ensure they are a fit for our programs.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years proven experience in consultative sales, consumer or B2B sales, or recruiting, ideally using Salesforce.com or Hubspot.com
  • Determination and stamina, driving for results in a target-driven environment
  • Understanding of technology. You don’t have to be a web developer, marketing expert, or data scientist but you must be familiar with these roles in order to help organizations reskill where needed. (There will be training on talking points).
  • Have a growth mindset and the ability to scale a nascent business. You think and act like an entrepreneur and like to build things. You are both highly tactical and a strategic thinker
  • Have intellect, grit, commercial acumen and the ability and desire to connect with people and organizations
  • Desire to work in a chaotic, fast-paced, fun environment
  • Enjoy team-selling and a culture of continuous learning
  • Can quickly understand and articulate customer value propositions across the SMB and learner landscape
  • Exceptional closing skills while remaining welcoming, understanding, and empathetic

Preferred:

  • Previous experience at a startup or fast-growing business in a new division
  • Experience with Salesforce.com and strategic pipeline management techniques.
  • Have an exceptional background with experience selling learning solutions or other professional services to B2B Clients. Background with education solutions a plus but not required.

Compensation and Benefits:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The compensation for this role is comprised of a base salary and a variable component, with the total compensation ranging between $100,000 – $150,000. Compensation will be determined on several factors including but not limited to location, skills, experience and may vary from the range listed above. Additional compensation includes industry leading benefits Emeritus provides, such as a comprehensive benefits package, 401K savings plan, company holidays, unlimited PTO, parental leave, and education benefits just to name a few.
